Item Description:

           Male and female singers sing or play solo or duo songs in Romanian, or recite without any instrumental accompaniment. The creations are sorrow songs (cântece de jale), doina (doină), drinking songs (cântece de pahar), folkloric dance (dans popular moldovenesc), waltz (vals), war songs (cântece de război), nuptial orations (oraţii de nuntă), which are recitative texts. One of them is in Ukrainian (song 12). Songs 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 are performed using a pipe (fluier) only. For the other songs there are no musical instruments used. List of creations: 1. Pocloanele (nuptial oration); 2. Ici în vale la izvor (sorrow song); 3. Bate vântul vălurele (sorrow song); 4. Pe valea culmii munții dorm; 5. Ah, moartea nu-mi vine; 6. Cucuruz cu frunza-n sus; 7. Doina la fluier; 8. Cântec de pahar; 9. Luna; 10. Rusasca (folkloric dance); 11. Vals; 12. Miсяц на нэбі (transliteration: Misiats na néбі) (Ukrainian song); 13. Când am fost noi la pădure; 14. La război; 15. Bade, ce pământ te ține; 16. Iertăciune (nuptial oration).

Performance/Interviewee Note:

           Male and female singers sing without any accompaniment (songs 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 12, 13, 14, 15). Male performer play the pipe (fluier) (songs 7, 8, 9, 10, 11). Male performer recite without any accompaniment (pieces 1, 16).
